Money Exchange

The currency used in Brazil is the Real's.
For the past 12 months it has been around the 3.5r/s to the pound.

Try and use your credit card as much as you can, but you will get a better deal in cash (as always). Brazilian banks have the best rate of exchange but they will only accept new notes that are not damaged in any way and they must be 100% perfect. Once at the bank you will have to go though revolving doors then after removing all metal objects you will then go though a metal detector, (just like the airport). You will then go to the second floor and take a ticket and wait your turn (waiting times can vary but has been known to take up to 4 hours).
